You’ve been chosen to join the ranks of budding biologists who study the living world. The Academy is where curiosity becomes discovery... and where every student finds their place.
Have you taken the Classification Ceremony?
If you’ve found your way here, you’ve probably already received your Academy letter and discovered your class. Welcome to the Academy!
If not, let this be your invitation. You were always destined to join us. Begin by taking the Classification Ceremony, where you’ll be placed into your class and officially welcomed into the Academy of Chordata.
Hello, my name is Professor Bettina of Class Amphibia, and I am honored to welcome you.
By now, you’ve likely been classified into your class... Mammalia, Reptilia, Aves, Amphibia, or Chondrichthyes. Regardless of where you belong, remember... each class has learners of all ages.
At the Academy, our younger biologists study within Junior Studies, exploring animals and biology through hands-on activities and crafts. Our older biologists take part in Senior Studies, where they investigate deeper concepts like taxonomy, genetics, ecosystems, and adaptations.
Whether you are Junior or Senior, your path is part of the same Academy. Junior learners will eventually grow into their Senior Studies, and together we form one community of biologists learning side by side.
The Academy is guided by the wisdom of Headmaster Linnaeus. As head of the Academy, he reminds us that every organism has its place and that science is both a system and an adventure. You’ll see his name and guidance woven throughout your Academy experience.
At the Academy, your studies don’t stop with lessons. Headmaster Linnaeus is always keen on sending Budding Biologists on various Missions. These are special challenges that stretch your skills, connect science to real-world problems, and let your class work together toward creative solutions. Missions are not required, but they bring an added layer of adventure and problem-solving that students love.
✨ It’s said that his portrait sometimes offers advice to students who linger too long in the Academy halls…
The Academy is always growing. Sign up to receive new Mission information, printables, and teaching tips straight to your inbox.
