From time to time, the Headmaster himself sends special assignments to students of the Academy. These Missions are more than lessons, they are quests meant to test your curiosity, sharpen your skills, and deepen your understanding of the living world.
Missions are story-driven challenges, personally commissioned by Headmaster Linnaeus. They might ask you to solve a mystery in the forest, track migration patterns, or record your discoveries in your Academy Journal.
For students: Missions feel like adventures... uncovering secrets, earning badges, and contributing to the Academy’s great record of knowledge.
For teachers: Missions are ready-to-use, standards-aligned extensions that foster problem-based learning, teamwork, and creative thinking. They add depth without adding heavy prep.
Every true biologist must look beyond the ordinary lesson. Missions are where knowledge is tested, sharpened, and turned into wisdom. Do not fear the challenge, embrace it.
Every Budding Biologists unit includes its own built-in mission, a hands-on activity or project that helps students apply what they’ve learned in memorable ways.
The Academy Missions are something more. These exclusive challenges are story-driven assignments from Headmaster Linnaeus himself and they are only available from this page!
Missions are also divided into Junior and Senior Studies, and while they can be used as stand-alone activities, some are designed to connect with specific units or even build on other Missions. When that’s the case, you’ll see it clearly noted.
Use Missions to extend learning, spark collaboration, or bring an extra layer of adventure to your classroom, co-op, or homeschool.
The Headmaster is preparing the first Academy Missions now... including a free starter Mission, where you’ll create your own Academy Journal to track discoveries and badges.
