Every Academy student must one day step into the great library where the Systema Naturae rests. Here, the art of classification is taught, the science of placing each creature into its rightful domain, kingdom, and class. To study taxonomy is to unlock the very order of life itself.
As part of the Academy's Senior Studies, students now take up the challenge of Taxonomy & Classification. In these lessons, they will:
Learn how scientists have organized living things into patterns that reveal hidden connections.
Train to see both the smallest details and the largest kingdoms.
Apply knowledge to real organisms, sorting them into their rightful places within the Kingdom Animalia.
Every exercise is part of your Academy training, giving purpose to their role as a Budding Biologist. These studies are not only about memorizing names... they are about seeing the living world as a great puzzle, waiting to be solved.
Each Taxonomy Unit is also a standards-aligned, ready-to-use resource, complete with teacher guides, diagrams, posters, activities, and flexible lesson plans. It can serve as a cornerstone of your middle–high school life science curriculum or as an enrichment track for advanced learners.
The Classification Scroll is said to reveal new secrets only to those who persist.
Students may be tasked with creating their own classification challenge, organizing the world around them, from plants to animals... and presenting it as their Academy discovery.
