What are Junior Studies?

Junior Studies are designed especially for younger learners who are beginning their journey as budding biologists. Each unit combines gentle science with storytelling, crafts, and hands-on activities that spark curiosity. Students don’t just learn about animals... they experience biology through games, projects, and problem-based learning that makes science memorable.

Each unit includes a teacher guide and a suggested weekly schedule, but can be taught flexibly in many ways. Junior Studies fit beautifully into a natural, holistic learning environment, and they also pair well with documentaries, zoo trips, or a more structured curriculum.

All Junior Studies are aligned with elementary science standards, giving you confidence that your students are not only engaged but also meeting age-appropriate learning goals.

Whether you’re teaching at home or in the classroom, Budding Biologists: Junior Studies give you ready-to-go lessons that feel playful yet purposeful,  perfect for elementary learners eager to explore the living world one animal at a time.
